Sintel, Free/Open Source-Produced Film Published

Originally started as a means to improve and validate the free and open source 3D creation software, Blender, the 15-minute film, “Sintel” has finally been published online.

Roughly a year and a half in the making, Sintel was made possible by donations from thousands of people and the very hard work of 14 artists and developers and a free software package called Blender.

See the trailer below and visit the Sintel site to view/download the full film. There are also plenty of behind-the-scenes/making-of documentary videos on they YouTube channel for those interested in how the film was made.
